Project Guardian, led by MAS and industry partners, focuses on testing the feasibility of applications in asset tokenization and decentralized finance (DeFi) while managing risks to financial stability and integrity. Future pilots could include the use of the “live” wholesale CBDC for the settlement of cross-border securities trade, MAS said.
