THE NEXT OCTOBER MANDATE – PURCHASE ALERTS. Last October’s mandate was more of a liability shift related to the implementation of EMV at the physical point of sale. Though purchase alerts can be instrumental in driving cardholder engagement, Ahlawat suggested that issuers not look at purchase alerts in isolation.
